My Interest In Music Facts

Hi, my name is Angela and I love Music. I've grown up listening to music all my life. When I was ten or eleven I taught myself to play piano.

Ever since, I've tried to learn every instrument that was available to me. I've learned to play the Penny Whistle, the Oboe, the Soprano Recorder, the English Horn and I am currently learning the Guitar. I have also played little bits on the Violin, the Flute and the Organ.

I also love Music history. I think it is fascinating to learn about the composers and the pieces they wrote. Whenever I am listening to the radio and hear a piece that I like, I love to look it up and find out more about the piece and the composer and or performer.

Normally, the piece makes so much more sense when I know a little background about it. And that is why I have decided to write this website so others can find out more about music.

So, what do I do now? I spend my time building this website and playing for a local youth orchestra as associate principal Oboist. I also play the Oboe for the local community band.

During the summer every year, one of my favorite festivals to attend is the Sunflower Music Festival. Professional musicians from around the world come and play free concerts every day for a week. The Oboist, Alex Klein, has come several years to conduct and has also performed several Oboe solos.

In 2011 Alex Klein premiered a new Oboe piece with 5 movements for each of the 5 different oboes. After the concert one of my Oboist friends took me and several more friends backstage to meet him. He was really nice and spent time to talk to us and he even let us all play his piccolo oboe! It was so tiny and cute! I really enjoyed getting to meet him.

You might be wondering why I've built a website, so here's how it got started. Several years my Aunt introduced my family to the idea of building a website using SiteSell. At first we thought no, but then we decided to give it a try. We didn't even know any HTML when we started because you don't have to with Site Built It! - SBI!. Several years later several members of my family have Site Build It! websites!

SiteSell has made it easy for me to build this website. It teaches you everything you need to know about building a successful website. I am now building my own website all by myself! It's so exciting!
